L’atelier des 4 lièvres, The Four Hares Workshop was created in 2003 in response to the specific expectations of our young visitors.  Its logo, showing 4 hares, pays homage to the Aydie family who built the Château in the 16th century and whose coat of arms description “De gueules chargés de 4 lièvres d’argent” means 4 white hares on a red background.  This educational workshop welcomes children from 6 years of age every Tuesday and Thursday in July and August.  It is open from 2.30pm to 6.30pm.  This year it includes la petite pause créa (a little creative break): after visiting the Château, children can sign up to play and create for a little while.  Each child leaves with the satisfaction of having produced their own creations.

L’atelier des 4 lièvres also welcomes primary schools.  A creative approach to understanding history.  Themes include heraldry and still life.  After visiting the Château, small groups of children spend time in the workshop where they are guided by a professional artist to produce a creation linked to the chosen theme.  An educational folder is given to each child when they leave so that they can store their works of art.

The summer workshops, school workshops, activity props and educational tools are designed and produced by Danielle Godart, graphic artist | www.lapetitepausecrea.com
