Les Rives de l’Art is an association created in 2007 by several passionate contemporary art teachers to promote its distribution in Dordogne.  One of the objectives of Les Rives de l’Art is to allow all forms of today’s art to be shown in some of the most remarkable sites in the Dordogne and Vézère valleys (parks, Châteaux, mills, drying barns…).  Mixing and crossing heritage buildings or landscapes with modern visual creations in order to reach a wider audience is the main goal of the Association.  This group, with 110 members who are all voluntary, aims to promote and support contemporary creativity in all its forms.

La Nouvelle Galerie is an association for the promotion of contemporary art in the Bergerac region and was created in 2002 by students of visual arts and their parents who came together to provide cultural events outside the official channels in Bergerac.  With this mission, La Nouvelle Galerie has made its mark and now has an important place in the visual arts scene in Bergerac.  Thanks to its eager volunteers, the backing of local communities and private partnerships, this association ploughs its furrow providing support in schools, mediation for those in difficulty and establishing itself in cultural life.

Created on 1st February 2008, the Agence culturelle départementale Dordogne-Périgord (Dordogne-Périgord Departmental Cultural Agency) is a public body set up to balance cultural provision by reducing the disparity in access to art between urban and rural areas.  Every year it puts together a varied programme – music, dance, theatre, circus arts and visual arts – in association with its partners in the Department.  It relies mainly on a network of artists with whom it has created strong bonds over the years.  For the visual arts this involves the group L’Art est Ouvert (Art is Open).  It also lends support to original initiatives based in the region and which contribute to the richness of local cultural life.  With a constant desire to reach a wider audience, it is an essential component of the departmental program for art education, alongside the state and the region authorities.

Les Fonds régionaux d'art contemporain (The Regional Funds for Contemporary Art), abbreviated to FRAC, are cultural institutions created in 1982 by Culture Minister Jack Lang in each French region to promote contemporary art.  They are provided with a budget funded mainly by each Regional Council and the State via the Minister for Culture.
